Botox®
For those who often look like they are frowning, angry, tired, sad, or generally older, Botox® injections can make amazing changes to the surface of the face without surgery or a length recovery period.
Botox® works to flatten the creases and wrinkles of the face, making the patient look and feel years younger.
Botox® is the brand name of botulinum toxin type A that has been used since 1990.
Treatment
Botox® is injected into muscle with a hollow needle, allowing the Botox® to be inserted at the site that will produce the best results.
Alternate Uses
Originally used by ophthalmologists to treat nervous twitching of the eyelid, Botox® has been used to successfully treat wrinkles since 1982. Botox® may also be helpful in treating migraine headaches, and can be used to decrease excess sweating of the palms and underarms.

Browlift (Non-Surgical)
Botox® browlift helps to open a patient's eyes by relaxing certain muscles that cause the eyebrow to pull down, giving the patient a sad look. The eyebrows are raised causing the eyes to open up, giving a more pleasant appearance.

Chin Augmentation (Non-Surgical)
Thanks to injectable fillers you can enhance your weak chin in a non-surgical manner with little to no down time or recovery.
A filler is ultimately injected into certain areas of the chin and molded to conform to your facial profile. Minimal topical anesthesia is used before this procedure and little aftercare is needed. Results are instant.
Dysport®
Sometimes referred to as Botox's twin or first cousin, Dysport® is used to decrease facial wrinkles. It's use and the procedure are very similiar to that of Botox. Talk to a specialist at Vayda Cosmetic Laser Center to find out which is right for you.
Earlobe Augmentation (Non-Surgical)
Are you tired of drooping earlobes? Do you wish you could add volume to them? At the Vayda Cosmetic Laser Center, we can offer a simple alternative to surgery.
Treatment
As we get older, our earlobes hollow out and droop. This is especially true with people who wear heavy earrings causing tears and enlarged holes. We can inject Restylane™ directly in the earlobe to replace volume. This non-surgical procedure rejuvenates earlobes by adding property dimension and projection of the earlobe towards the face.
Hair Removal
At the Vayda Cosmetic Laser Center, we use the Profile Clearscan Infrared Laser, bringing a new approach to laser hair removal.
The Clearscan laser selectively targets hair follicles and heats them with infrared energy. Unlike other methods, the Clearscan laser beam treats many hairs at once, making it possible to treat large areas at once.
Clearscan utilizes a unique computer-guided scanning system that automates the process, ensuring a rapid, effective, and safe treatment.
Treatable Skin Types
Clearscan contains an infrared laser that is very effective on lighter skin types. Because of the relatively low absorption of this light by melanin, Clearscan is also the best choice for treating darker skin types. The Clearscan laser can treat all skin types I through VI. Skin type I is very fair, always burns, and never tans (typically blonde hair and blue eyes). Skin type VI never burns (typically dark skin, hair, and eyes).
In addition, Clearscan can safely treat sun-tanned skin, making it the ideal treatment for active individuals. Always inform your physician if you have been tanning, using tanning products, or exposed to the sun within the past three weeks. Your physician will adjust your treatment regimen accordingly to give you the safest, most effective experience.
The infrared energy delivered by the Clearscan laser can be used to remove all types of hair. Sometimes “shaving bumps” can occur over a follicle, but the penetrating light of the Clearscan laser can still be safely used.
Hair growth occurs in three phases – anagen, catagen, and telogen. Only hair in the active growth phase, anagen, can be successfully treated.
Treatment
Treatment time varies depending on the area to be treated. A system for cooling the skin will be used to remove heat as it leaves the follicles, ensuring a comfortable treatment. Because the sensation varies from person to person, the physician can provide a topical anesthetic for sensitive skin.
Each patient may need to be treated three to five times at intervals of three to eight weeks.
After Treatment
After treatment, some redness and slight swelling may be present. If prolonged redness or swelling occurs, notify the physician immediately. Keep the treated area clean, use at least SPF 15 sunscreen when outdoors, and carefully follow physician instructions. Temporary pigmentation changes are possible but seldom occur.
Juvéderm™
Juvéderm™ is a smooth gel filler that is placed under the skin to instantly smooth those lines on the sides of the nose and mouth. Juvéderm™ can also be used to give lips a natural, full look that is long lasting and beautiful. Juvéderm™ is the only HA filler that is FDA-approved to last up to one year.
Juvéderm™’s unique formulation has a smoother consistency to help minimize the discomfort that can sometimes occur during the injection procedure.
Treatment Results
Results are immediate, with virtually no recovery or downtime. The patient will notice improvement in the skin’s natural volume, and facial wrinkles and folds will be smoothed away. Treatment results typically last six to eight months.
Laser Toning
The MedLite C6 is laser of choice for laser toning nonablative photoacoustic skin resurfacing for wrinkles, acne scars, fine lines, smoother skin texture and pore sore reduction, along with photoacoustic pore cleansing of old make up. Laser Toning is a very good maintenance procedure that works well with such procedures as BBL and Profractional. With the MedLite, you can treat all skin types safely and effectively. There is little risk of pigmentary changes, burns, or scars. Patients report and we have confirmed a more refreshed appearance, reduction fine lines and wrinkles, more even skin texture and decrease in pore size.
Liquid Facelift
Several years ago, physicians who were treating wrinkles with newly FDA-approved dermal fillers and BOTOX® began to notice that when they used particular products and certain injection techniques, their patients’ facial features were exhibiting a gentle lift as well. They refined their techniques to focus on lifting and contouring, with a side benefit of wrinkle reduction, and the result is the Liquid Face Lift. As applied by our board-certified physicians, a Liquid Face Lift can lift individual or overall facial features; reduce wrinkles, creases or folds; restore naturally curved facial contours, and give a more rested look and a friendlier smile.
Micro Laser Peel
At the Vayda Cosmetic Laser Center, we provide younger-looking, healthier skin with a popular new treatment – the Contour Micro Laser Peel.
A Micro Laser Peel is a full epidermal laser peel that precisely removes the outermost layers of the skin. The procedure is individually tailored to the nature of the problem to be corrected – wrinkles, scars, keratoses, or pigmentation problems.
A Micro Laser Peel is the perfection option for the patient looking for better results than microdermabrasion or light chemical peels, yet still has little time for the healing process.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How is the Micro Laser Peel different from microdermabrasion?
Generally, microdermabrasion only removes the outer layer of the skin. Patients may become dissatisfied when the perceived results do not reflect the expense and number of procedures required.
Micro Laser Peel is a minimal to full epidermal peel that goes much deeper into the epidermis. It is the perfect step between microdermabrasion and deeper peels.
Q. How often does a Micro Laser Peel need to be done?
One procedure could be sufficient for at least six to 12 months, but additional procedures can be performed as required. A package of three or four treatments may be the best option.
Q. What can the patient expect?
The patient can expect to have smoother, healthier, and more vibrant skin. The patient will notice a significant change in skin texture and tightness almost immediately.
Q. What type of anesthesia is used?
A topical anesthetic is applied 30 to 45 minutes before the procedure.
Q. Is the patient required to wear any type of dressing or bandage after the procedure?
No. The physician will prescribe an ointment such as Aquafore or Vaseline, which acts as a barrier to keep air away from the skin while a new epithelium is grown. The ointment is typically worn for one to two days. After that, a moisturizer can be used.
Q. How long is the healing process?
The healing process varies from patient to patient, but will generally take two to four days. The procedure can be performed on Thursday or Friday and the patient can return to work on the following Monday.
Immediately following treatment, the patient may feel as though he or she has a sunburn. Minor sloughing and itchiness will occur the following day. By day two, the redness will begin to fade and by day three, the remaining redness can be easily covered by makeup.
Natural WhiteSpa®
The Vayda Cosmetic Laser Center offers safe and effective teeth whitening with Natural WhiteSpa®. The system produces dramatic results, up to 11 shades in just one treatment.
The Natural WhiteSpa® System starts with our Power Whitening Accelerator. Producing an intense beam of purple light filtered through over 12,000 optical fibers and 20 layers of coated optical glass, the Whitening Accelerator Illuminates the teeth at a wavelength of 480 to 520 nanometers, proven to be the optimal range for teeth whitening. Harmful ultra-violet (UV) and infrared light is completely removed by the filtering system, leaving only a focused beam of cold-light in the blue-cyan spectrum, penetrating deep into the teeth and activating the whitening formula to its optimal potency.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Natural WhiteSpa® treatment for everyone?
The Natural WhiteSpa® treatment delivers phenomenal results to people whose teeth have been stained by smoking or by substances like coffee or tea. The treatment also whitens teeth stained by tetracycline, fluoride, or hereditary discoloration. However pregnant women, children under the age of 16, and patients with periodontal disease are discouraged from undergoing this procedure.
How white could my teeth get?
Tests show that, after whitening with Natural Whitespa, teeth score from 5 to 14 points higher on the teeth shade scale. Individual results will depend on how discolored the teeth were originally, however the end result will be white, shiny teeth.
How long will the whitening last?
This varies from person to person and depends on your diet, but the effects should usually last for at least two years.
Is it safe?
Yes, scientific studies have shown that using hydrogen peroxide to whiten teeth is effective and safe. The dental community has used it in teeth whitening for years. It does not change or damage the structure of teeth; it merely makes them appear whiter and brighter.
How long does treatment take?
In only 30 to 40 minutes, tooth discoloration that has built up over the years will magically disappear. It takes no longer than the time it would for you to have a haircut, a manicure, or a cup of coffee, it is that simple!
What is the difference between Natural Whitespa and other methods of whitening?
The Natural WhiteSpa® whitening technique whitens your teeth immediately and has no side effects. The result is 30% better than home whitening products and comparable technologies.
Will it whiten my existing crowns or veneers?
The Natural WhiteSpa® whitening treatment cannot change the color of porcelain crowns or veneers. We recommend that you discuss your situation with your dentist to determine what you can expect.
Will it hurt?
Most of our customers experience no pain or sensitivity after the treatment. A very small percentage of patients may feel a minor ache in the first twelve hours following the procedure. Taking an over the counter pain killer can help resolve this discomfort. Avoid cold or hot drinks for the first 24 hours if there is any tooth sensitivity.

PCA Chemical Peels
Skin peels involve applying a chemical solution to remove the outer layers of damaged or blemished skin so that a smoother, more evenly pigmented, glowing layer of skin can appear. Peels can be performed on the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, and legs, and chemical peels are also used to treat melasma, which is a skin condition characterized by irregularly shaped patches of brown skin on the face and neck. There are several types of peels that can be considered, depending on the individual's need. Our board-certified physicians will assess your skin to determine exactly which procedure to use.
PCA Peel®
This is a safe and highly effective treatment that has no downtime. This light to medium peel formula is proven to effectively treat acne, control oil, smooth fine lines and also help to inhibit the pigment production providing a more even skin tone. PCA Peel is available in the following three formulas:
PCA Peel HQ Free (non-resorcinol)
This peel is for more sensitive skin types or those allergic to hydroquinone. This peel will help unclog the pores eliminate acne and rejuvenate the skin.
PCA Peel® with Hydroquinone (non-resorcinol)
This formula is for those who want even skin tone and have no sensitivity to hydroquinone. It will correct melasma, sun damage and all pigment discolorations of any kind. It will inhibit active acne and correct post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (brown-spotting) from acne. PCA Peel® w/HQ can also be used to treat the neck and chest for sun damage.
PCA Peel® with Hydroquinone and Resorcinol
This peel is the most potent version of PCA Peel®. It is a deeper peel that will provide more exfoliation for oilier, thicker, resilient skin types. It is for extreme sun damaged skin and can also be used to treat the hands and arms. It is also excellent for those with active/cystic acne and asphyxiated skin (dry on the surface, oily underneath).
Ultra Peel™ I and II
Ultra Peel™ treatments are appropriate for all skin types, conditions and sensitivities. These treatments are especially ideal for sensitive skin, as they produce a minimal stinging sensation. Ultra Peel™ treatments will effectively treat acne, pigment disorders, aging skin, smoker’s skin and sun damaged skin.
For more dramatic results, both Ultra Peel™ I and II can be used in conjunction with microdermabrasion treatments. Ultra Peel™ II can be used alone or on top of any other Physician’s Choice™ peel, producing a lightening, tightening and brightening effect. It is a cream containing natural hormones and vitamins to provide freshening and moisturizing properties to aging skin. These natural hormones make this peel great for males, as it helps to counterbalance testosterone levels that create frequent break-outs during teenage years.
Moderate to aggressive exfoliation will be experienced, depending on the number of layers of Ultra Peel™ I. Overall, the final result will be plump and hydrated-looking skin.
Supra Peel™
The Supra Peel™ is designed for extremely sensitive and delicate skin, as there is little to no irritation or burning at the time of application. It is a moisturizing treatment due to the natural hormone and vitamin content, thus making it another great choice for aging, dehydrated and menopausal skin. Supra Peel™ contains anti-bacterial, anti-microbial and pore-refining properties, as well as de-sensitizing agents; therefore, it is a great foundation for treating sensitive acne and rosacea. Hyperpigmentation, melasma and sun damaged skin conditions will also benefit from the lightening capabilities of Supra Peel™. There is absolutely no downtime, little to no exfoliation and the end result is an immediate tightening and brightening of the skin.
Pumpkin Peel Beta-C Mask Treatment
The Physician’s Choice™ Pumpkin Peel Beta-C Mask Treatment is good for anyone at any age. It is a powerful antioxidant keratolytic treatment that can serve as an alternate between other peels and therapeutic treatments. Its main source of nutrition, pumpkin, offers more than 100 beneficial components, including the highest concentration of natural Vitamins A, C and beta-carotene.
The Pumpkin Peel has simultaneous actions: it exfoliates while introducing vitamins, enzymes and nutrients into the skin. It is an excellent treatment for smokers as it stimulates circulation, promotes healing and provides vitamin nutrition. As with all other PCA chemical peels there is no downtime. In fact, skin will be glowing and extremely healthy looking following the treatment.
Oxygenating Facial Trio
The Oxygenating Facial is an antioxidant therapy to ameliorate free radical damage. Oxidative damage is one of the more significant contributions to the aging process. The Oxy Facial Trio helps rejuvenate sluggish, tired skin due to toxins, pollutants, allergens, improper diet, solar damage, smoking and aging. Acneic conditions benefit greatly. This treatment is recommended between peel treatments when peeling is not indicated.
There are no stinging or irritating side effects. However, a rosy flush and rapid warm sensation to the skin is normal. Oxygenating treatments leave the skin radiating with a healthy look that will last seven to ten days, which makes it ideal one or two days before a special event.
Most Commonly Asked Questions
How much downtime is expected with a peel?
There is no downtime whatsoever with Physician’s Choice™ chemical peels. You can actually receive a peel on your lunch hour and return to work.
When will I start "peelings", for how long and how much?
Everyone’s experience will be different. However, on an average, you will see flaking by day two or three following the treatment. It is possible to see flaking for up to five or six days. With all Physician’s Choice™ peels, only light to medium exfoliation will be experienced.
How irritating is a peel?
PCA peels are only slightly irritating. You may experience mild burning or stinging, which is transient.
What is the difference between the three formulas of the PCA Peel®?
The PCA Peel® HQ Free is for sensitive skin types, ethnic skin, those allergic to hydroquinone or not looking to lighten the skin. The PCA Peel® w/HQ has a stronger lightening ability; it will help even out the skin tone. The PCA Peel® w/ HQ and Resorcinol is for most resilient skin types and will provide more exfoliation. This formula is great for someone who has reached a plateau with monthly treatments and needs a more aggressive treatment.
What is the difference between the PCA Peel® versus the Ultra Peel™
The Ultra Peel™ is less sensitizing than the PCA Peel® due to the complexity of the formula. The PCA Peel® has more of a drying effect and the Ultra Peel™ has a more moisturizing effect. The PCA Peel® formulas have more instant lightening ability, whereas, the Ultra Peel™ lightening process is more gradual.
Why would Ultra Peel™ II be applied, and when?
Ultra Peel™ II will ensure more flaking and peeling post-treatment. It can be applied after any Physician’s Choice™ treatment or it can be very mild treatment used alone.
What is resorcinol? Why use the PCA Peel® w/HQ & Resorcinol and who is an appropriate candidate?
Resorcinol is an antiseptic, antifungal, astringent and flaking agent. The PCA Peel® w/HQ and Resorcinol is excellent on active acne, smoker’s skin, oily, thick, resilient skin and hand and arm treatments.
What peels are recommended for use in conjunction with microdermabrasion?
There are different ways to enhance your results by using Physician’s Choice™ chemical peels with microdermabrasion. One method: apply Ultra Peel™ I four days before a microdermabrasion treatment. Following the microdermabrasion treatment apply Ultra Peel™ II; or all in the same day administer microdermabrasion then apply Ultra Peel™ I and II; or do microdermabrasion then apply Ultra Peel™ I, Hemoglobe-I (Step 2 from the Oxy Trio) and then Ultra Peel™ II.
What skin type or condition will benefit most from the Pumpkin Peel; what results are expected?
The Pumpkin Peel is best used for asphyxiated skin or acne. It provides nutrient input and will brighten the skin. It’s also great on very sun damaged skin that has lumps and bumps.
Which peels can be used with the Oxy Trio?
The PCA Peel®, Ultra Peel™ I and II, or Supra Peel™ can all be used in conjunction with the Oxy Trio, however, not all at the same time.
Can a person who is in the sun a lot receive a peel?
Yes, only if they are compliant with using sunscreen protection. If you are getting peels to lighten the skin, pHaze 13 Light N’Block® Pigment Cream (SPF 25+) is ideal to reduce any chance of further hyperpigmentation.
What peels can be used on someone who frequently works out?
Someone who frequently works out can have any peel but must wait 48 hours after the treatment to exercise. If you don’t want to wait, the Non-Burning Facial Peel is a great choice. This treatment uses our Ultra Peel™ II which is an acid-free, time-released retinol cream. It has a delayed flaking action that creates no irritation or downtime and leaves the skin glowing and hydrated.
My skin is very thin. Why would I want to peel? Wouldn’t that make my skin thinner?
If your skin is dry and thin, often there is a buildup of dead cells that actually keeps your home care products from penetrating. Having an Ultra Peel™ treatment will remove the surface buildup, hydrate the skin and give it a plumper, "thicker" appearance. The use of Vitamin C products in the treatment, as well as in your home care program, will help to build the collagen in your skin, thus making it stronger and more durable.
Can pregnant or lactating women receive a peel?
No. We recommend only the Oxygenating Facial Trio for pregnant or lactating women.
Are there any treatments that are good for rosacea?
We have a treatment designed specifically for rosacea that incorporates products from our Pumpkin Peel, Oxgenating Trio and Supra Peel™. It helps to unclog the pores, smooth the surface of the skin and promote healing. This treatment could be done as often as every two weeks.
Can someone using Retin-A® or Accutane® have any Physician’s Choice™ treatments?
We generally recommend that Retin-A® use be stopped five days prior to a peel and five days post treatment because of potential irritation and uneven peel penetration. Accutane® users tend to have very dry and sensitive skin and need to be treated only with peels that are appropriate for their skin type. We have found that the Physician’s Choice™ peel solutions are Accutane® friendly. However, your skin care specialist should always be made aware of any Retin-A® or Accutane® use.
I thought TCA was very aggressive and required a week at home for recovery. Why is this not true of your Ultra Peel™ that is 10% TCA?
Ultra Peel™ is effective because of its formulation, but works in a way that does not traumatize the skin like traditional, straight TCA peels. As with all other Physician’s Choice™ peels, there is no downtime. Following an Ultra Peel™, the skin is glowing and hydrated; exfoliation occurs more as flaking.
What is the difference between PCA and glycolic peels?
Glycolic acid will dehydrate skin and make pores larger after extended use. PCA uses lactic and citric acids which are skin-friendly because they are natural constituents of your skin. Physician™s Choice™ peels are unique because they are moisturizing and hydrating and leave your skin fresh, soft and supple, the way it wants to be!
Post-Treatment Tips
After receiving your chemical peel, you may experience some light flaking in a few localized areas for up to five days and slight redness for one to twelve hours. Although you may or may not actually "peel" during the first one or two treatments, you will probably experience slight exfoliation and your skin will feel tight and pulled.
Patients should always follow the Home Care Regimen sheet provided by their technician, but the following post-treatment tips are also recommended to maximize the benefits to your skin:
- Do not apply any medications following treatment not recommended by your technician, including AHA products.
- It is ideal to let the skin stabilize and rest overnight, but makeup can be applied following the treatment if absolutely necessary.
- Avoid direct sun exposure and excessive heat. Use your pHaze 6+ Hydrator Plus (SPF 15) or pHaze 7 Protecting Hydrator (SPF 15), pHaze 13 Light N™ Block® Pigment Cream (SPF 25+) or pHaze 8 Face and Body Hydrator (SPF 15) for daily sunscreen protection.
- Do no pick at or pull on any loosening or exfoliating skin. This could potentially cause hyperpigmentation.
- Home use of Pigment Gel® is recommended twice a day to continue lightening hyperpigmented areas.
- Do NOT go to a tanning booth for a least three weeks before or after a treatment.
- Discontinue the use of Retin-A®/Renova® or Differin® for seven days after treatment.
- Do not have electrolysis, collagen injections, facial waxing or use depilatories for approximately five days after the treatment.
- Do not schedule another treatment until your technician advises you to do so.
For Two Days Following:
- Do not apply ice or water to the treated areas.
- Do not put the face directly into a hot shower spray. Do not use Jacuzzis, steam rooms or saunas.
- Do not go swimming or participate in activities that would cause excessive perspiration.
- Do not use Buff-Puff’s or other means of mechanical exfoliation.
- Do not direct a hair dryer onto the treated area.
- Stay cool! Getting heated internally can cause hyperpigmentation.

The Photo Rejuvenation laser is much more precise and less damaging to the skin than other treatments, because the laser selectively targets problem areas without damaging the skin around them.
Port Wine Stains
Port-wine stains occur most often in the face, but can appear anywhere on the body. Early stains are usually flat and pink in appearance. As a person matures, the color may deepen to a dark red or purple color.
The presence of port-wine stains can cause emotional and social problems for the affect person because of their cosmetic appearance. The procedure to remove port-wine stains will allow the patient to enjoy living with a beautiful, flawless face.
Treatment
Laser treatment has made the most impact on the removal of port-wine stains, because it allows for destroying the capillaries without significantly damaging the overlying skin. There may be slight swelling, redness, or a mottled look to the skin immediately following the treatment, but these side effects are temporary. The results are permanent, but more than one treatment may be required.

Radiesse®
Radiesse® wrinkle filler is a next-generation product that does more than fill in lines and wrinkles - it restores facial volume to give you more natural and beautiful results that last. In many patients, these results may last a year or more.
How does Radiesse® wrinkle filler do it?
We borrowed a process called collagenesis directly from nature. Unlike other fillers, Radiesse® wrinkle filler makes you the magic ingredient in your own immediate wrinkle correction.
Calcium-based microspheres suspended in a water-based gel are injected into your skin through a simple, safe, and minimally invasive procedure. Once injected, the process of collagenesis starts as Radiesse® wrinkle filler works below your skin's surface to stimulate the production of your own collagen, which replenishes lost facial volume to smooth out the signs of aging.

Restylane™
Restylane™ is a safe and natural cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct facial wrinkles and folds.
Restylane™ is made of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that exists in the human body.
Restylane™ maintains its shape using the bodyÂ’s own moisture, which allows it to provide lasting results. Follow-up treatments are typically scheduled at six-month intervals.
Restylane™ has been used in more than 4 million treatments in 70 countries to correct a variety of wrinkles and to enhance the appearance of the lip border. It can be used for the treatment of facial wrinkles and folds such as nasolabial folds, the lines fro the nose to the corners of the mouth.
Restylane™ is injected directly into the skin in tiny amounts by an ultra fine needle, resulting in minimal discomfort. The procedure is simple and convenient and the results are practically instantaneous.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How long does Restylane™ last?
Restylane™ is proven to deliver long-lasting results. Studies show that Restylane™ effects generally last for about six months. The unique NASHA technology helps maintain the cosmetic effect until the injected material is almost gone. Follow-up treatments are typically scheduled at six-month intervals. Individual results may vary.
Q. Where can Restylane™ be used?
Restylane™ has been used in more than 4 million treatments in 70 countries to correct a variety of wrinkles and to enhance the appearance of the lip border. It is currently approved in the U.S. for the treatment of facial wrinkles and folds such as nasolabial folds, the lines fro the nose to the corners of the mouth.
Q. What should be expected?
Each patient should take a few precautions before being treated with Restylane™. One week prior to treatment, avoid taking St. JohnÂ’s Wort, high doses of Vitamin E supplements, aspirin, and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen. These agents may increase bruising and bleeding at the injection site. Also, if the patient has previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another reoccurrence.
Restylane™ is injected directly into the skin in tiny amounts by an ultra fine needle, resulting in minimal discomfort. The procedure is simple and convenient and the results are practically instantaneous. To optimize comfort during the short procedure, the physician may decide to numb the treatment area.
Q. Is Restylane™ safe?
Restyle has a highly favorable safety profile. It is composed of Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid, a substance found naturally in the human body. Restylane™ is biocompatible and possesses a limited risk of animal-based disease transmission or development of allergic reactions to animal proteins. No allergy testing is required before use.
Based on clinical studies, Restylane™ treatments produce a low occurrence of adverse events. The most commonly reported side effects were temporary redness and swelling at the injection site. These effects typically resolve in less than seven days.
Precautions
The safety of Restylane™ for use during pregnancy, in breastfeeding females, or in patients under the age of 18 has not been established.
The safety of Restylane™ in patients with increased susceptibility to keloid formation and hypertrophic scarring has not been studied. Restylane™ should not be used in patients with known susceptibility to keloid formation or hypertrophic scarring.
The patient should be informed that he or she should minimize exposure of the treated area to excessive sun and UV lamp exposure, as well as extremely cold weather until and initial swelling and redness has resolved.
If laser treatment, chemical peeling, or any other procedure based on active dermal response is considered after the Restylane™ treatment, there is a possible risk of eliciting an inflammatory reaction at the implant site. This also applies if Restylane™ is administered before the skin has healed completely after such as procedure.
SkinTyte™
The Vayda Cosmetic Laser Center offers SkinTyte™ - a non-invasive approach to firmer skin.
SkinTyte™ utilizes ScitonÂ’s BBL™ pulsed light technology, which deeply heats the skin while cooling and protecting the entire treated surface. SkinTyte™ treatment can be administered quickly with no discomfort and no downtime. The end result is firmer skin and a more youthful appearance.
Q. How does SkinTyte™ work?
The SkinTyte™ procedure utilizes a broadband of light energy delivered in a sequence of rapid, gentle pulses. This process renews the skinÂ’s collagen foundation, leading to increased firmness. Powerful cooling maintains the outer surface of the skin at a cool temperature before, during, and after each pulse of light – providing the patient a safe and comfortable procedure. A series of two or three treatments spaced a month apart is needed for most patients.
Q. How long is the healing process?
Some mild redness may be present in the treated area immediately following treatment, but it should subside within minutes. Because the SkinTyte™ procedure is non-invasive, there is no downtime. The patient can return to regular activities immediately following treatment.
Q. What areas can be treated?
SkinTyte™ treatments are safe for all skin types and can be performed on all areas of the body. Popular areas for treatment are the face, neck, abdomen, and arms.
Q. What results can be expected?
The SkinTyte™ procedure is not a substitute for a face-lift and results may vary from patient to patient. The SkinTyte™ procedure is recommended for those who desire moderate, noticeable skin improvements without surgery. Full results may take up to four months as the collagen foundation of the skin is rebuilt and strengthened.
Tattoo Removal
The Vayda Cosmetic Laser Center utilizes a MedLite C6 Q-Switched laser, which has shown to produce the most effective results for complete tattoo removal. The laser pulses very quickly to shatter the pigment of the tattoo, which is dispersed through the skin and carried away by the cells of the immune system.
Treatable Areas, Skin, and Tattoo Types
Medium or fair-skinned patients react well to the Q-Switched laser because the light is able to selectively target the ink, as opposed to darker skin, which may be more difficult to treat.
Dark ink is favorable for treatment because the laser is easily attracted to dark colors, making them easier to fragment. In addition, ink that is not dense is easier to treat, because there is less ink to fade. Superficial ink is also favorable because it is closer to the skinÂ’'s surface, which means the laser does not have to penetrate many layers of skin to get to the ink.
Areas that respond best to the Q-Switched laser are the arms, chest, buttocks, and anywhere with good circulation.
Length of Treatment
Most amateur tattoos are removed in one to four treatments scheduled about four weeks apart. Removing a professionally applied tattoo is using a longer fading process that requires a series of 5-15 treatments 4-6 weeks apart.
Following treatment, some blistering or scabbing may occur. Taking care of the treated area is the most important factor in removing a tattoo with leaving a scar. Appropriate instructions will be given on day of treatment.
We also specialize in laser tattoo editing where partial removal/lightening is done on portions of unwanted tattoos. We also offer discounted rates for all affiliated tattoo shops, military personnel, police and fire.

Trifecta
The Trifecta is now available at Vayda Cosmetic Laser Center. It has been widely talked about procedure in the Aesthetic world. It includes BBL for age spot removal, the MLP for improving skin texture and finally the Profractional for skin tightening and scar removal. All three are due the same done the same day in the office and can take years off your appearance.
Veins and Redness
At the Vayda Cosmetic Laser Center, we use the Profile Clearscan Infrared Laser, bringing a new approach to laser treatment of veins and redness.
Clearscan is a new infrared laser for the precise treatment of many skin conditions, including visible vessels, broken capillaries, spider veins, vascular lesions, and skin discoloration. Treatments can be tailored to match each patientÂ’s skin condition and desired result.
The physician will use Clearscan to restore the skinÂ’s youthful color. Broken capillaries and other visible vascular structures will be gently eliminated from the visible layers of the skinÂ’s surface. Clearscan will provide the optimum treatment for each patientÂ’s skin condition. Unwanted vessels will be preferentially heated by the laserÂ’s energy and become less noticeable.
Treatable Conditions and Areas
- Rosacea
- Redness
- Facial Veins
- Telangiectasia
- Spider Veins
- Broken Capillaries
All skin areas can be treated. The most frequently treated areas are the face, neck, chest, and legs.
Treatment
The patientÂ’s eyes will be protected with safety glasses. The Clearscan Laser will be delivered to the area being treated. The patient may briefly feel a warm or hot sensation as the laser pulses are preferentially absorbed in the unwanted vessels, heating and destroying them. The procedure may take a few minutes to half an hour, depending on the size of the area to be treated.
There should be little to no discomfort, however it varies from patient to patient, depending on the depth of the treatment. There is no need for anesthesia and there should be no lasting post-treatment discomfort.
After Treatment
Healing time will depend upon actual treatment. There is virtually no downtime; patients may return to moderate activity immediately. Some redness may occur for several days, but it will resolve over time. Patients will need to avoid direct sun exposure, or use a sunscreen of at least SPF 15 when outdoors.
It is important to carefully follow the physician’s instructions. The use of certain skin care products may be recommended.
